Vejer - Eating out and nightlife
There are many wonderful restaurants and bars in and around Vejer. In the old town, tucked away along narrow, cobblestoned streets are numerous traditional tapes bars, along with more bohemian bars and restaurants, frequented by the surfing fraternity and the more avant-garde; more determined nightlife takes place in the newer part of town. Vejer is well and truly on the tourist trail, but also has a lively and cosmopolitan expat population, so you can expect a little more than bars and restaurants geared only to Spanish trade. Unsurprisingly, given its proximity to Africa, there's a wide Moroccan influence to the food, with specialist restaurants and even a pastry shop selling North African delicacies. Many of the restaurants in and around the town cater to the more demanding pan-European palate, while making use of the excellent local pork, beef and, of course, seafood.
